Tijekom kiše voda se slijeva s višeg dijela ceste i ispire šljunčani temelj uz rub kolnika prema potoku. Zbog toga se vec ispire temelj ispod ruba asfalta. Ako se to ne sanira na trajniji način, postoji opasnost da se rub ceste uruši.
